![]() In order to clarify the behavior of bond interface under shear stresses a laboratorial research was carried out employing static and dynamics solicitations and through the results it was identified loss of bond for a low number of load repetitions. Bond interface for such materials is taken as the key for ultra-thin whitetopping once this condition allows significant reduction of bending stresses on the concrete slab, and the early loss of adherence would drasticaly commit the pavement performance. This work presents a research on the bond strength between Portland cement concrete and hot asphalt mixtures for composite pavements, with special concern to ultra-thin concrete overlay or inlay for old asphalt pavement surfaces (ultra-thin whitetopping).
